A local group to support and encourage a compassionate, cruelty-free, vegan lifestyle. We hold cooking sessions, tasting sessions, information sessions on everything from cruelty-free moisturisers to leather-free walking boots; vegan textiles to the best dairy-free cheese for cheese sauce!
A question to all who have cut out eggs or dairy from their diet: Have you ever seen such an amazing selections of cakes, asked if there were any vegan options, then been bowled over with the answer “all of them”?!
If you think it’s too good to be true, get yourself over to Sheffield and tuck into Steel City Cakes. (A bit far away from the three valleys, but good for a day trip.) We enjoyed the Oreo and the white chocolate and rose choices (shown), both were incredibly light and moist. There were gluten-free options, doughnuts and tarts which we’ll try next time, not to mention the milkshakes.
Please note, we have not been asked or paid to promote this business — it is just the opinion of the author.
It may be raining, but you can still enjoy the approach to summer! Morrisons Todmorden have extended their vegan-friendly frozen range. Three new ice creams (also gluten-free) and several new burgers and sausages. Look out for the tubs of Swedish Glace still, further down the aisle.

In May 2017, two of our group went out to visit a local Brownies group in Todmorden. We gave a cookery demo and a talk, with cupcakes for all! It went very well, and we hope to be able to visit them again soon.
Animal Aid are celebrating their 40th anniversary with the Vegan Festival of Britain, running 20 May to 10 June 2017. 3 Valley Vegans are joining in by hosting a stall on Todmorden open air market on Thursday, 1 June.
The information stall will be a celebration of veganism and will promote all things vegan. We will provide information about how and why to go vegan and where to buy and eat vegan food in the area. There will be lots of vegan recipes for people to take away and free samples of vegan food for people to try. If anyone would like to help out either by baking or creating some food samples to give away or by helping out on the stall then please contact Elizabeth on elizabethking@talktalk.net
