Free online Animal Behaviour and Welfare course starts today

A five week online course to learn about animal behaviour and welfare needs starts today online, provided by the University of Edinburgh. It looks really interesting to all who want to know more about animals. There’s some specific modules about pet animals’ and farmed animals’ welfare needs. No particular time commitment is required, and it’s FREE! You can find the course here.
Vegan breakfast and lunch at Saker
Saker, the bakers in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, are introducing a range of vegan sandwiches in their Hebden Bridge shop on Market Street.
Did you know that all their bread is already suitable for vegans? They also make great vegan croissants fresh each day (Mon-Fri, butter ones at the weekend) and have a vegan cake most days. There is also their range of pasties and sausage rolls, most of which are suitable for vegans, plus lots of vegan-friendly groceries. 
On the subject of vegan options, due to popular demand, the Long Causeway Trading Co have introduced a vegan pie to their range of hand-made savory pies! (It has been tasted by 3vv – verdict: delicious)
Petition Chinese officials about dog meat festival
A petition to the Chinese officials in a position to stop the Yulin dog meat festival in Guangxi province in China. Via the Humane Society International’s website.
3rd July: Cheese and Chocolate Tasting Session

Two questions that arise for vegans – “What about cheese?” “Milk chocolate?”
A tasting session for a variety of different types and brands of vegan cheese alternative, from cheddar to mozzarella, parmesan to cream cheese. Examples of dishes cooked with them.
Also a tasting of different brands of non-dairy milk and white chocolate, and cooking with them.
Todmorden Community Rescource Centre, George Street, Todmorden. 7.30pm til 9pm, Thursday 3rd July. Cost: £4 – to cover food costs. Tea and coffee provided.
