1 November: Let’s go for a walk

Sunset Stoodley PikeFrom Todmorden up to Gaddings Dam (there is a beach there), on to Stoodley Pike and then down to Hebden Bridge.  About 4 hours including a stop for lunch.  Anyone who wants to can then extend the walk back to Todmorden along the canal, making it a circular walk of about 5 to 6 hours.

Don’t forget to bring your lunch with you and maybe you might want to share some as long as it is vegan.  Walking boots and suitable clothing are essential.

Start off at 10.30 am outside The Bear in Todmorden (Rochdale Road) on Sunday 1st November (new date!).

Please note that there will be some steep gradients to climb.

EDIT: Here are some photos from the event, taken by Rob.

Vegan breakfast and lunch at Saker

SakerSaker, the bakers in Hebden Bridge and Todmorden, are introducing a range of vegan sandwiches in their Hebden Bridge shop on Market Street.

Did you know that all their bread is already suitable for vegans?  They also make great vegan croissants fresh each day (Mon-Fri, butter ones at the weekend) and have a vegan cake most days.  There is also their range of pasties and sausage rolls, most of which are suitable for vegans, plus lots of vegan-friendly groceries.  Saker vegan sarnies

On the subject of vegan options, due to popular demand, the Long Causeway Trading Co have introduced a vegan pie to their range of hand-made savory pies!  (It has been tasted by 3vv – verdict: delicious)
