From Care2 Petitions, by Jaclyn Haggata:
We have now received an enforcement notice demanding we remove the pig shelter (stable), gates and access road – Making it impossible to look after the pigs and ensure their welfare.
After moving our 6 rescued pigs from a very un-suitable exposed field, for which we were charged an extortionate rent, we could not believe how lucky we were when we bought nine and a half acres of ancient, overgrown, un-managed woodland at an auction. …

Petitioning Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council
We, the undersigned, demand the immediate suspension of any move to sell the former health centre site on Rose Street/Pollination Street to McCarthy and Stone. The site has been designated for the use and benefit of the people of Todmorden
The site has been designated for the use and benefit of the people of Todmorden – not as a means of raising revenue for Calderdale Council. We need this green space to celebrate nature and provide a very necessary resource for the community old and young to use. Without Pollination Street there is nowhere in the town centre to hold festivals and community events. Look on any sunny day and see the people enjoying this green space.

TO: DAVID CAMERON (PRIME MINISTER) AND THE HOUSE OF COMMONS.
David Cameron, you stated that if re-elected, you would repeal the ban on fox hunting. Please do not go ahead with this plan.
Why is this important?
In a modern, civilised society, there is no place for this grotesque and cruel pastime. The previous government banned the practice, but the new government is planning to legalise hunting foxes using dogs. This is a barbaric and outdated activity that should stay where it belongs – in the past.
We have a choice in this life, we can be kind, or we can be cruel. I think the choice is easy…
Here is a real opportunity towards an end to the dog & cat meat/fur trade, which is going to be debated in the House of Commons soon. Please could you sign the petition at: soidog.org/uk_petition.htm
You can ALSO write to your MP so they know their constituents want THEM to be present at the debate etc. Let your local dog club/cat charity about this too.
Sign the e-petition on the HM Government e-petitions site calling for the closing of the loophole which means some animals killed under religious slaughter are not pre-stunned.
